The 2025 WCBS User Group Conference brought together school leaders, industry experts, and technology partners for a day of learning, discussion, and networking at the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground.

As always, the event served as a valuable platform for independent school leaders to connect, share best practices, and explore the latest advancements in school management technology.

A Warm Welcome and Key Updates

The day began with an update from WCBS CEO Neil Butcher, who reflected on the past year and shared exciting developments across our range of systems including HUBmis, HUBincome, and passFINANCE. Attendees gained insights into how WCBS is continuing to enhance its solutions to help Independent Schools manage their operations more efficiently while staying ahead of industry challenges.

Expert Insights for Independent Schools

One standout session of the day came from John Murphie, COO of The ISBA, who provided a deep dive into how changes within the education sector will impact schools in the coming years. His talk sparked important discussions among school leaders, helping them prepare for upcoming financial and regulatory shifts.

Later in the day, Samantha Garner, Founder of Balanced Schools, took the stage to discuss the critical role of wellbeing in Independent Schools. From staff mental health to student support systems, her session reinforced the importance of prioritising wellbeing in school environments, an issue that resonated with attendees.

HUBincome Takes Centre Stage

A key highlight was Andrea Hare’s introduction to HUBincome, WCBS’s next-generation income management solution. Attendees were given an exclusive look at how HUBincome will transform the way schools track, manage, and optimise their revenue streams, an area of increasing importance for Independent Schools. The session sparked great interest, and we can’t wait to show you more very soon!

Interactive Workshops and Practical Solutions

Beyond the keynote presentations, attendees had the opportunity to take part in interactive workshops led by WCBS partners. Topics ranged from AI-driven efficiencies in school operations to optimising cash flow with HUBpay. Schools also benefited from a highly attended session on VAT return preparations in passFINANCE, providing practical guidance on navigating financial compliance.

These hands-on sessions allowed school leaders to explore innovative solutions and gain practical takeaways to implement in their own institutions.

A Stunning Venue and Valuable Networking

Held in the beautiful Pelham’s Suite at Lord’s Cricket Ground, the conference provided an inspiring setting for discussions and connections. The exhibition area buzzed with activity throughout the day, as attendees engaged with WCBS specialists and partners to explore the latest advancements in school management technology.

Looking Ahead

As the event concluded with a WCBS panel Q&A and prize draw, feedback from attendees was positive. Some highlighted the value of gaining industry insights, networking with peers, and learning about the latest developments in WCBS solutions.
