Around the world in 18 days! WCBS at conferences in six countries

The logistics of having the right staff – and display equipment – at the many conferences around the world of school associations with whom WCBS is affiliated can be challenging, but always worthwhile.
First, we have the opportunity to meet with different staff from schools using our products, gaining invaluable feedback and information on plans for the future.
Secondly, we can bring to the relaxed atmosphere of the delegates’ conference our latest products and developments, and hear instantly their reactions.
Top of our list during the Spring Term has been our single sign-on solution, ClassLink, WCBS ePAYSLIPS, and our bilingual solution – the latter already successfully in use in China.
Spring Term Conferences
The conference round started what seems like a long time ago in Wales, at The Society of Heads, where there was no time for golf for UK Sales Manager, John Cannon. Delegates here were interested to hear more about how our single sign-on solution works, and how our electronic payslips portal overcomes security and confidentiality issues. A pair of Lord's Test Match tickets were won by Adrian Meadows, Head of Peterborough School.
Nicki Scott flew off to sunny Madrid to attend NABSS (National Association of British School in Spain) where she spoke over the course of the conference about 3sysACADEMIC, and its powerful reporting functionality with individual and group analysing options, and our software’s bilingual capabilities and ability to work with multiple curricula, including CIE and iGCSE.
Greg Martin, based in Kuala Lumpur, made the trip to ACAMIS (Association of China and Mongolia International Schools) in Beijing, pictured here with one of our partners’ representatives from Finalsite. Again, the buzz was all about how WCBS can fulfil the bilingual needs of schools around the world.
WCBS sponsored – and took part in – the pre-BSME Conference Golf event in Doha and also sponsored the conference bags. Also, we had two winners of a pair of Lord’s Test Match tickets each - Andy Gleadhill from Drums for Schools and John Ing from Dukes Education.
Nicki Scott and Kim Ruddle attended Swiss Group of International Schools (SGIS) conference in Aubonne Switzerland, and very much enjoyed the Olympic Museum – the venue for the gala dinner.
At the ECIS Leadership Conference in Rome I valued the chance to speak with delegates about our ability to manage the IB programme through 3sysACADEMIC and the ways in which we can help align core information management to other educational functionality, using our new API integration tool and single sign-on solution.
In May, I will be at the COBIS Annual Conference in London, where WCBS is sponsoring the wine at the annual dinner, and then at the ISBA Annual Conference in Edinburgh where WCBS is one of the headline sponsors.
There will be more prize draws for the coveted tickets to a Lord’s Test Match this summer, and the opportunity to talk to us face-face about our market leading information management systems and services, and I very much look forward to seeing as many delegates as possible.
