Kuwait English School reigns supreme at Royal Bahrain Golf Club

Ali Peterson and Kieron Peacock outplayed all comers at this year’s event, held alongside the 2017 BSME Conference.
Building on her fine second place in 2016 Ali beat all comers with a score of 34 Stableford points and wins the coveted BSME Golf trophy alongside the event prizes. This was an exceptional score on a very tricky course, complete with deep bunkers, gullies and plenty of water. The weather didn’t help either, with an especially strong wind blowing, but Kuwait English School showed us all how to cope with it.
Kieron was runner-up with a fine score of 28 points. Ali won the Nearest-the-Green prize (no one actually made the green) and Kieron hit the Longest Drive.
Richard Gaskell of ISC took the sponsors trophy again and will be getting his handicap reviewed before the next event at the Vale of Glamorgan on July 19th. The top team not surprisingly included Kieron and Richard, with Tony Child adding just a few points. Thanks to the club for providing the super team prizes.
Everyone enjoyed the day and the general banter in the clubhouse afterwards. Sponsor players, when asked for their best and worst bits of the day, provided the following comments, with probably the difficult conditions taken into consideration!
IH – “Losing three balls on the second hole would be a low point, but two pars in a row for the first time ever would be a highlight…..other than the rendition(s) of Wonderwall in the bar afterwards!”
AW – “Hitting a 7 iron out of a shallow bunker 130 yards only to land in the same bunker!!”
RG –“Seeing the same ball trickle back off the green, 3 times, and then for fun hit over the green, had us on our knees with tears.”
